What can we expect in 2019?

The end of the year is approaching, and this means YDigital Media is thinking about the upcoming year. 

What is 2019 going to have in store for us?  

The first marketing trend for 2019 is one that follows us from 2018, personalization. 65% of B2B buyers say they´d switch brands if a company didn´t personalize their communications. We see more buyers expect tailored experiences at every point of a buying experience. 

Secondly, social commerce is growing in 2019 with the buy-now button that provides more impulse purchases. It is all about the future of online shopping: social selling. On social media platforms, there already is the possibility to buy products and it is expected that this feature will only grow in the coming years. 


Furthermore, the video will keep growing. If a person stumbles on a video ad, the likelihood that they will want to learn more is getting bigger every year. Studies expect video to account for 85% of total internet traffic and 65% of ad impressions are video ads on Instagram. Snack ads (which are short videos less than 10 seconds long) are going to be popular in 2019 because our attention spans are getting shorter and 89% of the audience are engaged during ads below 10 seconds. 

In 2019, it is all about Mobile Only. 1.2billion people worldwide use mobile and users spend an average of 2.8 hours on mobile daily. Online spending grew 38% in 2018 and will be growing even more in 2019. 

It is important that websites function properly and quickly when someone uses them on a phone. People will grab even more easily for their cell phone to quickly look something up. Furthermore, the ability to pay with your phone grows even more in 2019 and in the near future, it will replace bank cards altogether. 

With so many people using mobile and having access to the internet almost anywhere they go the importance of mobile marketing is impossible to miss.
