The season of joy is upon us. The Christmas decorations, shopping for gifts and the advertisement season; all have arrived. Advertisement during Christmas is always a bit over the top, reminding us of the importance of family, friends, and food. There isn´t a busier month when it comes to shopping but there is nothing that makes us want to shop more than all those festive ads.

The Christmas adverts have become a key feature of the season, giving companies the chance to exploit the festive cheer and make sure that everyone at the office (and at their home) is talking about that one festive ad they saw recently.  

Video adverts are one of the most popular ways of sharing a Christmas story, and with that the emotional moments – everyone likes a feel-good story around the holiday season. An emotional story is a powerful tool to make a brand memorable and this video content made a massive switch from TV to Mobile.

This switch is not that strange considering mobile is our favourite way of shopping these days. We like to shop the easiest way possible and if it is possible, everything in one place. It´s so easy to check out a link in an advertisement, click, order and pay for our products and we did our Christmas shopping in one sitting. In addition, according to the Adobe Digital Insights 2017 Holiday Recap, purchases made from mobile devices accounted for 33.1% of online holiday revenue in the United States, which is $35.9 billion!

Regarding this, advertisers get more out of these campaigns than just the Christmas spirit. An estimate is made that every $1 spent on Christmas advertising can create a $24 profit.
